Can I delete .IDX files from my PC?

    Hallo,

This morning when I switched on my PC, I found 1200 .IDX files in my Music folder.

I have no idea what they are for, or how they had gotten there. They begin with CA00.IDX in numerical order, some in alphabetical order. There are about 1200 of them.

Can I delete them, and what are they for?

    Thank you.

Here are simple step to delete IDX Files from a Computer

Click the Start button then Run
Type cmd /k then click OK or press the enter key
In the Command Prompt window that opened type cd \
That should get you to a prompt something like C:\>
Now type DEL /s *.idx (deletes all *.idx files including those in sub directories)
Now you can exit that command prompt.
