actual path the executable is: %windir%\system32\migwiz\migwiz.exe

If it is there then make a shortcut to it. Otherwise I agree...download it from Microsoft.
Thank you. Yep, it is right where you said it would be but still doesn't show up in either route.

Will try to download it in a while.

    Thanks again.

    Thank you.

Sorry, but I'm a little dense right now after raking leaves all day and don't quite understand.
You can try bobtrans solution or you could go to microsoft.com and if you can find it, I think you can download easy transfer from there.

edit: Good, looks like you found a solution

You could also type "migwiz" in the search and then click it (it is an executable and starts the Easy Transfer wizard).

OK everybody. There was an eye dee ten tee error here. I keep a folder on my data drives that has shortcuts to most of the things I use fairly often and, of course, there is a short cut to that folder on my desktop. I found Easy Transfer in it with the short cut symbol. I think what happened was that I left click dragged it from All Programs\Accessories\System Tools rather than righ click dragging it and choosing 'create a shortcut here.' Either that or I right click dragged it and chose 'move here.'

Thanks to every body who pitched in and got me thinking straight.
