Win 7 Pro Shutdown Briefly Flashes Unwanted Image Before Shutting Down

Somehow, an image that I did not knowingly download to my system very briefly flashes on as soon as I start a shutdown of my system. It is only displayed (like a logoff screen would be) for about a second, then it disappears and my normal shutdown screen appears and the shutdown proceeds normally. I have no idea where this image came from, although it is an image of a car and I was browsing through ads for cars on the internet for several days before this started.

I know how to start up Win 7 using a manual step-by-step startup, but I cannot find any way to do this for a shutdown. Is there any way for me to manually observe the steps of the shutdown process in the same way in hopes I could find where this image is on my PC? Or something else I could do to get rid of it? It displays briefly right after the shutdown procedure finishes the initial "closing running applications" procedure (it always has to shut down the Magnifier app on my system) and after a brief second it then displays my normal shutdown/logoff screen.

    Thanks

    Hi,
    Use Clean boot,
Troubleshoot Application Conflicts by Performing a Clean Startup
Click Start and type in the search box,
    msconfig
Click on the suggestion on top or hit the Enter key,
Go to the Startup section and take some screen shots for a complete list,
Go to the Services section and on the bottom left Check the box to Hide All Microsoft services,
    Repeat the screen shots,
See the links above my signature on how to take and upload screen shots here,
    Cheers.

Wrote out a reply, but the foruim wiped it out because I clicked the "fixed" link before I posted it. Problem somehow went away.

    Thanks,

Update: Finally found the cause, it was not services etc., as the above procedure investigates. I disabled **all** services and startups and problem was still there so that was not the cause.

Found it was a corrupted Theme profile. When I changed to an earlier theme I had saved, the problem went away, and it returned when I changed back to the then-current theme. So I just deleted that current theme and reverted to a slightly earlier one.

    Thanks for the help

No, this was just my own modified standard win 7 classic theme (different fonts, colors etc.). Somehow, I think the shutdown process briefly displayed some kind of custom desktop or logoff screen (from who knows where) just before it loaded my own custom logoff screen. I had in the past fooled around with several third party theme packages, maybe a leftover from that somehow. Just glad it is resolved.

    Thanks
