Being the beta of windows 7 isn't the problem. I'm running it and have been for quite some time with no real problems as have most people. Like I said, you're running with 3gb of memory. If you've just installed 7 within a few days, it's gunna be sticky and laggy at some points for a while. Give Superfetch and indexing a while to do there thing and you should be running smoother in no time. If you feel any steps you've taken in the speed up performance tutorial have made it worse, go back and reverse what changes you've done. You don't have to do everything in the tutorial, just change a few at a time and see if it makes any diff in performance.
I think you need to check your scores again because surely the graphics should be better than that. I have a 9500gs in mine and I have ascore of 5.2 for gaming graphics where yours is 4.8. I know yours is the mobile variety but still they should be better. Its a 9600gt which is a damned good chip...
OMG ! Shoot me please
I began to hate my notebook ..I don't know why it doesn't give me the right performance ..
Most of the people didn't like Vsita because it a memory eater and need a kinda high spec .. and they go to windows 7 because it's light and smoother than vista .. in my case i don't run windows 7 ( which supposed to be more light) like i run Vista
Really i don't know

Hello RST101, and welcome to the Seven Forums,
One thing that has not been mentioned as yet is what security software, are you running, Antivirus, anti- malware etc. I have in the past seen this sort of lag where more than one resident AV are running and are conflicting, It may also be caused if a resident application is set to run too aggressively, IE. set to scan every file type every time.
Of course this may be not the problem in this case but may be worth investigating
Guys here is the latest news..
My windows take 1 min from starting the laptop and to be fully loaded and ready to use .. only one min .. is that ok or not ??
And another thing i have installed the latest nvidia driver 179.48_notebook_winvista_32bit_beta.
But still the 1 sec lag still here .. I give up about this problem i ca't find any solution for it :'(
If you have MSN live messenger loading at start up, and running in the background, this could be part of the 'slow' problem. You can set that to start manually when needed. Also, you may have a couple or more services that don't need to run automatically and can be set to manual.
Hi Zaghlol
1 minute for a working desktop is not bad at all. After I choose the OS I want to boot (Vista and Win7 dual boot), mine takes approximately that long as well, and I have 1 startup item that I know slows the desktop load for a little bit, around 4 to 8 seconds or so, but I live with that.
These lags you experience, I'm not sure that it's actually a problem if it's only a fraction of a second as you've stated, and I don't believe it's graphics related. I would think more of a general system lag like disk time and memory controller deal, but nothing to worry about really. If these lags increase to more than a second or two, then I would start monitoring the Performance and Resource monitors to see if something is hanging the system.
Do you have a gadget to monitor the CPU and RAM usage? That may also give a clue to what's happening, like if you see your CPU spike to 100% when this happens, or a high RAM usage.
