Does Window 10 app on Window 7 computer cause PC to wake from sleep??
I recently noted issues with my Window 7 PC.
It seems that when ever I try to put PC to sleep, it wakes up immediately for no apparent reason.
When I checked cmd (powercfg -lastwake) it listed this:
[Service]\Device\HardDiskVolume3\Windows\System32\svchost.exe(wuauserv)
which I believe refers to Windows Update.
There is technically no new update available aside from the Window 10 download (which I am not interested in doing at this time). Yet when ever I click on my start button to put my computer to sleep, the "shut down" option states that it will install update prior to shut down even though I have no update selected -- in fact, when I do hit the shut down option (even though it states it will install update prior to shut down), no updates are installed and shuts down normally.
Is the Windows 10 update the reason my PC will not stay asleep and why it keeps saying updates will install on shut down even though I do not have it selected as an option in Windows update?????
Is so, is there any way I can disable this WITHOUT turning off the wake timers (as I have some events I want to keep doing via the Task Scheduler)??
Any information would be helpful.
Thanks.
