Character Set or font issue with printing from Adobe Reader.

I downloaded a pdf document and am printing it with adobe reader. It looks fine onscreen but when I print it to my Brother MFC 8860DN some characters are substituted for others -- like a dash "-" becomes a "{"and a "/" becomes "=". There are a lot of messed up equations.

Here is a link to the document on-line:

How can I find out what I have and don't have? An to be able to print?

I found that I can print the file OK from a Firefox tab -- but not after I download it and try to print it with adobe reader.

That solves my immediate problem, but would like to understand the problem better because I might have other pdf files that might have the same issue.

I have Adobe Pro 6 and in XP I was able to print pdf's with this program but in Windows 7 the option is not there. Does anyone know a fix for this? I'm guessing that Windows is trying to kill Adobe by removing the option and replacing it with there version, the XPS. I really hope not.....if...
