when moving file to SD card date modified resets

When moving a file to an SD Card through the card reader the Date Modified is resetting.
Any idea why?

To me, this is normal.

When you 'move' or 'copy' file to a new location, the date reset itself.
This could mean that this is new file on this new location, so a new date/time.

Doesn't this mess up video files as Date Modified resets?
Not sure how this is normal as this is intermittent.

Date Created has always changed in Windows but not Date Modified.
