    ? hardware problem or

Hello, my 7 laptop has suddenly begun to misbehave.it sticks on the black toshiba screen when I switch on, it says F2 for something and f10 for something else, but Enter usually gets it to boot up. But then when it has booted if I go to a text program it gives an endless uncontrollable stream of = signs, same in the search box at bottom left, In qwicken it churns the date endlessly forward. Esc gets it out of this (usually) and it works fine.
Can someone point me to what is the problem? Is it the keyboard or is it a software mangle?
Does it sound fixable or is this my hint to dump the machine?
    Thanks

    Try this first:

Boot your PC with the "Last Known Good Configuration" option.
This quick little option can be accessed by following these simple steps:

Press and hold down the "F8" button as you boot up your PC and before the Windows logo is displayed. This will bring you to the Advanced Boot Options, wherein a list of options on booting up your Windows 7 system is provided.

Locate the "Last Known Good Configuration" option and select it by pressing the Enter key. Your PC should now start booting Windows. Wait and see if it works.

If that didn't work, try System restore.

    Hi and welcome to SevenForums,
Yea I did get a tad stuck on the bios flash screen last night on my Acer
Before that on shutting down it sort of hug too

Not sure what to make of it though I chalked it up to usb issue but even with that the system should boot as always usb or not.

There have been so many kernel mode driver updates lately I wouldn't put it past one of them that might be the cause

I can't say anything about the ====== stuff that I have not seen
All that happened was a hang on the bios flash screen which I did end up in bios and optimized defaults and also disabled fast startup for the heck of it.

I added a new pci slot 2 port usb2 because of some of the issues with onboard usb2 port issues from a crappy key board I used hosed 1-2 of the usb ports
I only had my mouse connected to it prior to the hang but now I have my key board also connected to it too.

A while back there was a kernel mode driver update or similar that stated a hang might happen and all one needed to do is use Ctrl+Shift or Alt+Delete to exit that hanging screen.

I never had to do that but possibly it caught up to me :)

sfc /scannow scan came up dry as usual.
