    power outage computer auto reboot

I know I need to get a UPS, but until then... My area had a lot of power flashes, power goes off and comes right back on. Because of this my comp keeps turning off and back on. Is there any way to keep it from rebooting every time the power flashes?

The APM in BIOS is set to off

Hi jack1101, welcome to the Forum.

Unfortunately there is no way, other than a UPS, to prevent your computer from rebooting after a power flash.

Continual power flashes can damage computers as they are sometimes associated with large power supply spikes that can blow power supplies & motherboards.

If you are doing work on your computer that you don't want corrupted or lost, then a UPS is essential.

Some bios have a setting that stops the computer from rebooting after a power loss.
    Worth a check.

Loosing power hurts nothing except loosing your work you are doing; it's the surges that accrue when the power comes back on where damage can be caused.
