Unable to enable password on lock screen

    Hi all,

I recently look my computer to a technician for a repair, and they ended up reimaging it. I provided them with my password so they could make the necessary changes and they disabled the password on the lock screen.

The problem I've encountered since getting my computer back is I cannot re-enable the lock screen password.

I followed the instructions on Screen Saver Password Protection -Enable or Disable and so far I am not having any luck.

Does anyone know how I could re-enable the lock password?

    Hello User16457, :)

You might also check to see if you may also need to enable require a password on wakeup.

    Thanks for the reply,

The option to change "Require a password on wakeup" is currently greyed out. The current setting is "yes."

    Just a left field suggestion

Have you checked that your account still has a password assigned, I have known technicians to simply remove the password at the start of working on the system to simplify things and forget to re-apply it when completed

Just check that your user account and also check that the setting to require all users to need a password is set to on

In addition to what Nigel posted, are you able to change this using OPTION TWO?

Thanks, this was it. Looks like the password had been removed entirely and creating a new one worked.
