I need an opinion as to which laptop is better

Just for curiosity sake. I have this laptop a HP Compaq Presario C700 and a HP compaq Presario CQ56. Which laptop is better the C700 or the CQ56? Both have OS Win7 Home 32bit on them. The CQ56 has the OEM Win7. The CQ56 has the Windows 7 sticker on it just bellow the keyboard on the right side. The C700 has the Vista product install number on the bottom. 1 of the 2 laptops is going to my 11 yr old nephew for Christmas. I just can't make up my mind as to which 1. Other then the power jack in the CQ56 needs to be replaced (it is an easy fix. The jack isn't soldered to the motherboard. It is jarry rigged right now). Both laptops work fine now that I solved the over heating problem in the C700 laptop. From the research that I did. The CQ56 is a few months to a year newer then the C700.

Looking at the specs of both then I would say the HP compaq Presario CQ56 is the better of the two. A, it is newer and B It has 2GB Ram compared to 1GB in the C700.

The C700 series had a LOT of motherboard issues. Go with the CQ56.

I give away several used laptops every year, and I always make sure that they have sufficient ram and hard drive space for some growth.
Then I do a very thorough cleaning and tweaking the OS for Maximum performance and efficiency, before giving it away. Turning ON Windows Defender and installing "Super Anti-Spyware FREE" would be a good move too.

When necessary, I will install a larger HD, and install more RAM.

    Good Luck!
