Apply folder views and templates to specific folders

I am trying to set explorer so that only folders with the template music have list view and templates of pictures have large icons view. Whenever I try to apply a template and view to a folder is just switches right back to general. I do not want one view for all folders.

Hello Bob, and welcome to Seven Forums. :)

The tutorial below can help show you how to apply a folder view to all folders with the same folder template.

I still am not able to set folder templates with no reason as to why I cant, I set a specific folder to pictures or music and apply, make the changes I want. apply to folders and it just goes right back to General Items template every single time.

Have you tried any of those .reg files in the tutorials that reset Explorer templates to the system defaults? Maybe if you start from square one it might react differently.
