Download Microangelo On Display "Not Free" $25 But a very good program. It'll do what you want to do. Here's a screen shot I put together.

When you create your thread always look to the bottom of it and you may find "Similar Threads" if yours has enough key words to match what is saved on the 7F Servers.

The first one may help: How can I remove the UAC shield on desktop icons?
The link in post #2 sends you to another thread where Brink mentions that it can't be removed, it's there by default, but he also shows a work-around.

This tutorial may also help: Elevated Program Shortcut without UAC Prompt - Create

Then there is also the Search resource: remove administrator shield from shortcut | google search , with possible solutions.

    Hi,:)

Thanks for all the suggestions; however I'm not a techie and do not want to take any chances to screw things up. I've been using Win for over 25 yr as a business platform, and I know how easy it is to mess up. About 1.5 yr ago I removed from my laptop, I just don't remember the process.

I'll just live with the damn thing as I've got more important business, legal, real estate, broadband, healthcare, investment issues pressing.

You guys have always been very helpful to me in the past with your spot on solutions, have to pass on this one for now.

You're welcome, I understand your position. If you ever do get around to removal I'd be interested in how you accomplished it.

    Hi,
The Desktop is an interesting place it is the most elevated place in windows
Easiest way to remove the shield is to not have the program/ game.. .exe file on it if it bothers anyone :)
They don't really bother me all that much it just shows what runs at administrator rights.

Remove UAC Icon Overlay in Windows 7

How to remove UAC shield icon overlay - Microsoft Community

I finally got rid of my yellow & blue UAC shields on my desktop shortcut icons. First, note that the shields only indicate that the shortcut opens the application with “administrator privileges”. Second, the shields only appear on the desktop shortcut icons and can not be removed by deleting the shortcut. My problem was with Corel PaintShop Pro X6. The program uses two desktop icons, one for 32 bit and another for 64 bit. The shields covered the 32/64 bit indicators in the lower right hand corner.

    1. Uninstall the application that the shortcut relates to.

    2. Reinstall the application.

    3. DO NOT take any actions to open the program using the desktop shortcut icon until you complete the next two steps. You can do any updates, registration etc. later.

    4. Right click on the desktop shortcut icon and select “Properties”. Select tab for “Compatibility”.

    5. On “Privilege Level” at the bottom of this window: remove check from the box next to “Run this program as an administrator”.
