I'm in for a short period of time; have you already ran WR(AiO) in Safe Mode with Networking, accepted defaults & added items 26 & 27, along with WU fix?

After you've installed Windows Repair (All in One), best to boot into Windows' Safe Mode with Networking, however, regular session will probably be ok too. when the main menu comes up, find and click on Repair. Once the Repair menu settles down, you will find some checkmarks already -- keep those. And find item 26 & 27 and checkmark those. Let WR run in the foreground, it is best to not be doing stuff while it runs. When it is finished, I think it will "ask"you to Restart, restart the computer, let Windows and desktop come to full readiness -- meaning desktop icons and taskbar icons are visible and ready -- just like your normal Windows session every day. I will be in and out all day, unreliable as times on and time off.

I'm very sorry that WR(AiO) did not work! I should have mentioned that it is an imperfect tool, sometimes it did not solve a problem for me either. It is quite possible that not only is something within explorer.exe no longer working but also cannot be fixed by EZ-run programs. It might take some real geeky steps: I will try to root around The 'Net, perhaps, might be able to post the URL of somebody who has successfully fixed this copy and paste problem and posted his/her solution set of geeky steps.

    RE: Copy & Paste.

highlight item to be copied/ pasted then

    try [Ctrl+C] for copy
    and [Ctrl+V] for paste

RE: Explorer crash. Review this post:

    Explorer.exe keeps crashing

Note: Windows Error Reporting Service must be enabled and a reboot is required after merging the reg file.
