Altex Electronics in Austin and San Antonio probably still has some legal retail and OEM Windows 7 around -- however, such are not cheap! I only mention Altex because it is one of many computer places that do only sell "Microsoft-activate-able" DVD 32&64 bit sets.

    Is this their website ?

    https://www.altex.com/

All I see from them is OEM, which is fine, but $30 more then Newegg.

We`ve all talked about this before, some have said they know where to get a Retail copy of Windows 7, but I don`t see why anyone would be holding on to a Retail copy of Windows 7 for this long a time.

And if you could find it, I think the price would be outrageous.

I think it would be very hard to trust anyone claiming to sell a Retail Windows 7

AddRAM, very likely, only the Austin store may have a couple of retail copies on their shelf. Like you said, OEM is much cheaper. I purchased two retail Window 7 Pro packages from them awhile back. So, it's very possible only a couple of packages still exist - or none exist. In fact, when I brought in my Acer for a rollback from W8 to W7, I had to bring in my license/product key as proof of purchase before leaving with the laptop [2 years ago].

You may be able to get an OEM version from your PC manufacturer. I got one last year from Toshiba and it works just fine.

The OP has a custom build, so that option is most likely out.

He just has to find a reputable seller of an OEM dvd and COA.
