    Thanks for the help guys. How would I go about getting help from the Security section? Do I ask an admin to move this thread over there? Or is there another way?

    Windows 7 Home Premium: Please help...Programs Will Not Update

    RE: Disable NetBIOS over Tcpip

    Open Network and Sharing Center (click network connection icon in system tray)

    Click "Change Adapter Settings"

    Click on your active connection then follow the steps in these screenshots but ignore settings that are not highlighted.

    Thanks, Callender. I started a new thread in the Security section and made a link to this one. Should I restart after I disable NetBIOS?

    Not sure if a reboot is actually needed but you could reboot anyway.
