Streamling Windows Builds using Imaging for Domain Usage - SCCM?

    Hi Guys,

I'm currently having to rebuild Dell laptop and PC system from scratch using Dell Windows media discs as we don't have a standard model or build around the company.

Obviously this is a pain after doing a few systems as all of our standard software, patches and windows updates have to be installed which takes a long time to complete.

I know that WDS exists and SCCM also exists but I'm not too sure exactly how Windows 7 SP1 x64 can be best placed into the mix to get the most out of what Microsoft have to offer in terms of OS deployment.

I'd preferably like a image of Windows 7 Pro, stored on our network (or usb storage) on which MS Office, CD burning software and a number of other programs we use could be pre-installed, along with the bulk of WSUS updates that we apply. Then from some form of repository (I think it's SCCM) the relevant drivers could be downloaded, or even better automatically found from a designated inventory, to which the computer would be in a usable state.

If anyone could point me in the right direction (or forum if necessary) with guides as to creating such a setup I'd be very grateful.

    Thanks
