Why is my Windows 7 doing so weird?

    Hello,

I upgraded from Windows Vista to Windows 7 Ultimate about 3 weeks ago. It's fine but 1 thing bothers me:

-I can't copy anything from harddisk or usb (hotfix doesn't work).
-When I copy it stops in the middle.
-My External harddisks keep crashing (but not on my other pc's).

    My solution:

    Replace all drivers, didn't worked.
Today I wiped everything away and began a new clean install of Windows 7.
    Problem isn't solved.
    Installed newest Intel drivers.
    Problem not solved.
Going to other forums and aksed for help.
    Problem not solved.

    Can anyone please help me?
    My PC:

Intel Core Quad CPU Q9400 @2,66GHZ
    8800GT nvidia
    And Intel Express Chipset G33/G31/P35/P31

    for more information please react.

Yes. This site's biggest fan of upgrades (me) is recommending a clean install here.

    Problem solved.

Areo, welcome to SevenForums. You say you did a new clean costum install of win 7 and this did not solve your problem of not being able to copy files from usb drive? Also you have updated your chip set drivers? But no help. Can you copy and paste files from one folder to another with no problem? You could try a repair install. Good luck to you with your problem.

Im not to be rude but he did say that he made a new clean install.

I guess that the problem is a failing HDD.

I'd be digging in USB devices in the management console, examining the event logs, and running detailed chkdsk passes before going to any other bother.

Yep. I missed the part about clean install.

In this case, I'd scan with Malwarebytes on full system with latest updated definitions. Some sophisticated malware could have followed to the clean install.

I don't think it's a failing hard drive because he has issues with an external too, that he says works well on other system.

In worst case scenario, a low level format then a clean install should definitely fix things.

Nothing found and I tried all virus,malware/spy scanners:

    -McAfee
    -Norton (using now)
    -AVG Pro
    -Malware Anti-Bytes
    -Spydoctor
    -Kaspersky
    -etc.
