Yes. This site's biggest fan of upgrades (me) is recommending a clean install here.

    Problem solved.
Im not to be rude but he did say that he made a new clean install.

I guess that the problem is a failing HDD.
Also not a failing HDD because it works great on every other pc

Further help/suggestions may come if you fill out your system specs... we're just shooting in the dark without them...

Areo, welcome to SevenForums. You say you did a new clean costum install of win 7 and this did not solve your problem of not being able to copy files from usb drive? Also you have updated your chip set drivers? But no help. Can you copy and paste files from one folder to another with no problem? You could try a repair install. Good luck to you with your problem.
Yer I updated all of that correctly and copying on local harddisk no problems!

Is your profile in Windows 7 at the Administration level? If not this might be the issue.

What model motherboard is the Gigabyte? Is the BIOS up to date?

Are you logging in to Windows as a user or as administrator?

You can see on the hard drive manufacturer's website if there is a firmware update.

If you install one, back up the drive first to be safe.
