Ctrl + X/V command stopped working overnight on Windows 7

    Hi,
I have just switched my home computer on and the cut/paste function apparently stopped working overnight, and I have no idea why. I would also like to point out that: the copy/paste command does work (both when I right-click and select copy and paste, and when I resort to the Ctrl + C/V thing). The OS installed on the aforementioned computer is Windows 7, and I've already tried restarting it a few times, but no such luck. Being able to use the Ctrl + X/V is fundamental to me, seeing as sometimes I'm supposed to cut and paste bordered cells with pictures inside on Excel, and by right-clicking cut and paste there's a very good chance it will just cut and paste the image and not the cell as a whole... besides, it's faster and I wanna be able to use it!
I have just subrscibed, so feel free to move my thread to a more suitable forum section if it does not belong here.
    Thanks
