Hmm. More likely to force us to build our own GUI. lol But yeah I can see MS doing that!

yep well there goes the command prompt, Computer (This PC in 10) msconifg (again changed for 10) and I guess we shall end up having to pay Microsoft for writing the OS as well

And, why? Does everything have to be so flat?
Steve, when you open Edge you should see 3 dots (. . .) in the upper right corner. Click on those dots and then scroll down to Settings. Once you open Settings, scroll to the bottom and click on View Advanced Settings. You're right, there's a big learning curve. Unfortunately, I don't see things getting any better.

I like Windows 7 (on 4 PCs) and have a spare retail license.
If I build a new PC (the 5th) I'll install Windows 10 pro (non SLP OEM) and learn to live with it.

Just install your favorite browser if you don`t like Edge, I sure don`t.

And I thought the entire idea of feedback was to help MS build a better OS ? why in the he// would they remove the control panel ?

They may as well just turn the feedback option off

M$ ignores the fist software law:

"The best software is the one you know how to use"

They also love the second software law:

"Build something any dumb can use and only dumb s will enjoy them."

Yeah apparently we (consumer) aren't intelligent to enough to need control panel, msconfig, or anytthing useful.
MS knows whats best for us!

I think it would be fine, the life expectancy of a laptop seems to me about 3 years lately. But if you did get one that lasted until 2020, you could update it to 8 or 10 at that time.
