    Installation Files

Hello, I just recently installed WIN 7 back on my machine and I have a bunch of locked folders that look like installation files. I've never seen things like this roosting on my other installations. Just wondering how to determine if I can dump these or not and how to get rid of them if possible. Some of the files in one of the folders looks like Photoshop stuff. Thank in advance for any info.

    Hi Windwood,
your seeing that many as you have set folder view to show hidden and system files.
your safest bet is to run MS disck cleaner,
note1 keep windowsOLD for about a month.
note2 of those you marked DO NOT REMOVE the recyclebin folder and system volume info.

I run across these directories from time to time. I created c:\TestDel and d:\TestDel on my OS and data partition respectively. I move any questionable folder into one of the two TestDel directories. After about a month or longer, if nothing "complained" about the missing folder[s] -- I then delete 'em. I do have bi-monthly full image backups if I need to put anything back.
