Where to find extra PSU cables!

    Hey everyone,
I know this is not the right area to post this question but I looked over the main list and could not find a fit for my question.

Essentially, work bought a new 1080x. Go to put it in, we need more power cables for the PSU.

We have a EVGA 1000gq power supply. I need an 8 pin, as well as a 6 pin.
I took a look on the internet and can only find packages for 100+$.

Does anyone have any insight on where I could find those 2 cables?

What happened to the PCI-E cables ?

These are the cables that come with the GQ, and it has plenty of GPU cables.

Why aren`t they in the box ?

    They do make a 1000GQ.

Basically, they went and did some work out of town. The PSU died, they had to get a company in a town to put the new PSU in.
The people that usually deal with it are on vacation.
So I have no clue where we would have our box, which theoretically would contain any extra cables.

I took the tower and the 1080 into the local store, the person told me that that I need to either find the box and get the cables, find the PSU cables online, or buy a new PSU as they need to be the same.

I think that is wrong. If that was the case companies like bitfenix would not sell custom cables.

Yes but a lot of PSU`s are proprietary, especially EVGA`s, I know, I have a 1000 P2 and a 1200 P2, you just can`t buy any cable on the market.

It has to fit in the plugs that EVGA uses.

And it looks like EVGA does not sell a cable set for the 1000 GQ

Well that sucks. Thats what the person at memory express (local PC store) said. Thats unfortunate.
I appreciate the help! Have a merry christmas!

Contact EVGA, maybe one of the kits sold for their other PSU`s might work, or maybe they`ll send you just what you need, (but I doubt that)

I tried to get them to replace my red cables from the 1000 P2 and they said I`d have to buy the braided set.

You might be able to find a cable here.

    Performance PCs Home Page

If they have one it would be hard to find on their site. Hell it's hard to find anything on their site.

** One must be very careful when one isn't using the cables from the power supply manufacture.**
