How safe is Win7 going forward?

Morning, I have 2 win7 computers and love them and want to keep them purring along. I dont do Microsoft updates...just dont trust them anymore. But I do a weekly Macrium image and always run sandboxed. Both computers get 8+ hours of daily use. I have upgraded to ssd drives on both and have 8g ram on both. I use an external 1 ter drive for storage and images. I also dual-boot to Linux Mint and have it set up pretty good although I dont use it much. Do you think win7 will just keep on keeping on like XP has? Or is it a must change to win10 to try to stay safe? I never seem to have any problems at all with virus' or the like and am able to figure out most problems. I also keep a recovery disc and a new install disc.

I also don't trust WU anymore. M$ is pushing those updates that we don't know what they do.
As long you can run the programs you like on win 7, Win 7 can be good forever.
Win 7 support (updates) will be released till Jan. 14, 2020. But if you don't use the updates, nothing will change.
I still have a old laptop with Win XP and it still runs the same way.

Problem is that new generation CPUs, Chipsets etc will only be compatible with Win 10 and Linux.
As I don't intent to use Win 10, I can see a Penguin on my future computers desktop.

Glad to see I'm not the only one who feels that way. Been trying to decide if implementing the new "convenience upgrade" is the thing to do. Very leery about that. I like your thoughts guys. Believe I may just go the Security Updates ONLY route.

Thanks guys, for making me a little more at ease with win7. You know, I have put in a lot of time over the years on getting 7 just the way I want it. There comes a time with technology and one's age where one just does not want to go forward any more. The stuff that used to be easy to try and to adapt to is just not easy anymore. The old tried and true and very familiar is so easy to use and the programs I use work just so darned well that I dont have any need to try "upgrading" them. Before I do anything with something new I always do an image...almost always I go back to that image and are relieved to be back. So thanks again.

Since you do not do updates, Windows 7 will be as safe, for you, as it is now.
I, personally, would install the security updates as long as they remain available.

I also use win 7 right now but i bumped on some compatibility issued when installing it. I think that is maybe the issue and will come with some security problems too. Microsoft's support is almost gone so it's gonna be more risky for sure.
