Broken Primary Monitor, no boot to Secondary

Ooook so I'll start out and say the first monitor isn't exactly broken, it's just missing. Because I lent it to my cousin. Because her's actually broke.

So I just have my secondary monitor plugged in. And there was a "power outage" (I accidentally turned off the surge protector).

What's happening now is my secondary monitor is staying black (like it does when the primary was hooked up until i log in and then it activates), and I can't even get it to boot to safemode. I used all different cable combinations I could think of.

WHAT DO I DO!?!?

I feel stupid. But it got plugged into the mobo instead of the video card. k bai

One trick I often use with builds involving an discrete graphics card on a system with built-in graphics, (or Audio or Network), is to block the duplicated ports on the Motherboard.

This way even when reaching around the back of the system in the dark, only the live ports are available

I always try to use suitable blanking covers where available, (a lot of the non budget manufacturers actually fit these for shipping), but a suitably cut strip of gaffer tape can be just as good. This also lessens the openings for ingress of dirt into the electronics which is a plus
