Windows 7 stuck in infinite reboot loop

I'm working on a friends laptop that is stuck in a loop rebooting. It started after she attached her iPhone to the laptop.

I've tried using a repair disk and so far it's not working. I also have tried to boot to safemode (which also fails).

I've also tried sfc /scannow but it doesn't work.
I've tried rebuilding the BCD manually (I'm not sure I did that right)
Is there any way to fix the machine? I really don't want to reformat the machine if I don't have to.

Heres what I see when I boot it up:
When I turn on the computer it has a white bar that says it's loading windows, then I see the normal windows loading screen. After about 5 seconds it goes into system repair. That fails and the process starts all over again.

I was able to get the computer to give me the option to boot into Safe Mode but that failed as well. I also got the option to boot to the last stable configuration but it failed too.

Additionally, when I rebuilt the BCD it doesn't load windows instead it goes to a light blue screen with nothing on it (Not a BSOD type blue screen).

I also ran Bitdefender's bootable antivirus and it removed 4 infections.

I hope this makes sense. I've been working on this thing for over 16 hours and am starting to get confused.

Thanks for any help you can offer.

I forgot to mention I also tried the instructions on the first page of this thread:
    Startup Repair Infinite Loop Recovery

And also there are no system restore points.

Edit: I just finished running chkdsk /R
    It didn't find any errors
