    Windows updates revert desktop

Don't know if that thread title explains it but here is what's happening. I have successfully downloaded a gazillion updates after new win7 install. I also set up my desktop with themes, downloaded AV, installed browser etc. Now, not every time but many times, after the updates, when I relog on, pc says, " preparing your desktop" and reverts to the generic win 7 look and none of my other "stuff" shows up. . It's super annoying as I have to log off and re-log on to get to my look. Anyone know what this is all about Thanks.
spec: Dell 2305 All in One Inspiron. 4 gb ram 1gb drive.

Have a look in your User Accounts to see if there is another Admin User that should not be there.

    ^^ Agree.... ^^

Or perhaps the user profile is corrupt and Windows is having trouble loading it?
Or software conflict with the theme and/or security applications?

    Just a thought,

I created a password protected admin account and I use the "standard" account for all browsing, etc. I am the only person on this pc. I will keep an eye on it as it just seems to happen after I download all of the windows security updates. Thanks to you both for your thoughts.
