    Where to find old-school, 8-bit 2D icons?

Hi, will someone please help with this: how do I word a google search for this kind of stuff:
This is the simple, 8-bit 2d, no-frills kind I'm looking for.

Please, please - out of the goodness of your hearts; will you give me a pointer?
Lacking that, it's worth a donation to sevenforums for me. I get nowhere on my own

    Thank you!

You are not being too clear in what you want (.ico packs or .png packs)
There's some nice icon packs in DeviantArt (Mostly .ico files and some png images).
Here's one. Check the related Deviations, there's some more there.

Or you could just google like I did: "Windows 98 icon pack".
These worths a try too: "Old icon pack", "Vintage icon pack", "8bit icon pack", "[insert old OS name here] icon pack".

    I hope I helped.

Some forums prefer putting the xx in for some reason.

Just put the tt back where they belong and see if it helps.
