    No, anywhere in C drive?
Nope sorry can not. When I look at the tree in Explorer C: is stated as a local but all access is denied. If I click on the opener to the left of C: I get C: is not accessible Access is denied

You can type a path directly into the address bar. Try navigating to “C:\Users\Administrator.Lar-PC.001” by entering “%userprofile%” into the address bar.

You must have access in some places or you wouldn’t be able to logon.

But as I told Callender it seems like that Administrator.Lar-PC.001 is like a sample of Windows. All those aspects with that curved arrow are inaccessible. And when I do CMD as admin it automatically goes there instead to Windows/system which used to be. And I can not CD anything or dir but can enter many DOS commands from there. So it seems the system exists just not avail.

Yes just to test. You should still be able to log into your old account.

Just to let you know I was able to create a new account and give it admin priv but get no further than with regular admin.

    I’m not sure I understand.

Those items are links and everyone has them by default. Problems with permissions or not, they are not normally accessible to users anyway.

In this folder, are you able to access the ‘Security’ tab of any item, for instance, that Downloads folder? If it’s just C drive playing up, then things aren’t so bad.

It’s a restoration mission at the moment. I don’t think we can fix the unique problem you are facing. You’ll have to move your data off the C drive and perform a clean install.

That's the intention but getting the data off is troublesome at this point but let me check those folders

So you don’t get the “Can’t open access control editor. Access is denied.” error here?

If the problem is contained at C:\, you can just browse the file system using the address bar and copy your data off the drive.

I imagine your personal files would be under C:\Users. Can you access this location?
