what windows setting do I need to change?

A while back I was trying to get Lotus 1-2-3 (its from 1998, the final release) to always start on monitor number 2 of my multimonitor setup. I tried out the program ultramon and made some changes with it but could not get it to do what I wanted, didn't really like the program, TRIED to reverse the changes it made, and uninstalled it.

Now, whenever I use the Lotus program, all of its dialog pop-ups will start initially on monitor 1, then after 1 second jump over to monitor 2 (I always run the program on monitor 2). I want this to stop.

I've uninstalled both lotus and ultramon and deleted all references to them (I think) in the registry, then re-installed Lotus, but these jumping dialogs are still happening. Obviously ultramon made some changes SOMEWHERE on my system, and am hoping someone can tell me where to look. Its been a few weeks now and I do not want to do a back-level restore to my system. Really just want to find where are the settings that cause these jumping dialogs. Thanks

sfc comes up empty. Ultramon must have changed some setting somewhere.

System Restore seems to be your only option. Why are you reluctant to do a system restore?

Please explain sfc comes up empty. What do you mean by empty?

I do not have system restore turned on

Here's what I mean by sfc coming up empty.

Somewhere on the system is a setting that is making lotus relocate its dialogs

I've made some progress on this with the help of the guy who writes ultramon. Apparently I had a script running at boot up which caused the jumping dialog boxes, which ultramon installed but did not uninstall when I uninstalled the main program. So that part is now fixed.

Am still interested in figuring out how windows "remembers" what monitor to load an application on. Like if I open notepad, move it to monitor 2, then close it, how does windows know to open in on monitor 2 the next time? Must be a setting somewhere.
