Can't save most system settings or pin anything to taskbar/start menu

Sent it for repair months ago to fix network stuff, now i cant pin anything to taskbar.start menu, when i delete something it's permanent and doesn't end up in the recycling bin, mouse settings wont save after restart

also i cant save folder settings (sort by, etc) or unhide hidden folders

Hi pounc3r, welcome to the Forum.

Have a look at this Forum link for checking your Task Bar problem.

Cannot pin items to the taskbar

For the Recycle Bin problem, Right Click on the Recycle Bin & select Properties, when that opens make sure that the "Don't move files to the Recycle Bin. Removes files immediately when Deleted" is not selected. You will see that changing the selection is self explanatory.

What brand of mouse are you using & does it have a software program with it. You may need to reload that or go into the program & change some settings.

not the mouse, ive changed it and problems are still here
when i go to recycling bin properties the custom size and dont move files options are grey and unclickable
and there isnt any gpedit.msc when i searched from the start menu

What network stuff needed to fixed when you sent it for repairs. Could detail what the problems were & are they now fixed, apart from your current problems.
