Regarding Upgrading From Windows XP-SP3 to Windows 7 32-bit.

I am presently using Windows XP-SP3 on my computer and i want to install Windows 7 32-bit on it but when i try to install Windows 7 from Bootable DVD or Flash drive, my computer hangs at the start of the installation when the four coloured Windows 7 Logo appears i.e. My computer hangs at splash screen.
