Win7/Pro x64 - Increasingly Unstable - Applications Crash on Save

I am trying to print a copy of a long set of screen shots posted by jumanji so that I can carefully follow his instructions for using testdisk to copy a drive to a backup drive before working on the original.

Last night I could snip and paste the images into a Word document for printing and to save. This morning Word locks up when I try to save. I tried opening Libre Office Writer and it hangs before opening. I tried creating an Acrobat copy of the thread page using Acrobat 8 Professional and that crashed. I tried opening the snips in PSE 6 and fitting them on a page (that way I'd have screen shots if I needed them) and it crashed. Snipping Tool locks up when I try to save.

What other options do I have?

Among other things, if I can't save an image how can I attach it to future replies?

My system specs are up to date.

    thanks

    A Printing Workaround

I just found a printing workaround, but the Save As remains a major roadblock.

I opened Word, pasted a Screen Shot (Snip) and resized it by dragging a corner. It printed.

That much I can work on.

    thanks

    Works 'Sort of...'

I began in earnest. The thread contains 12 screenshots. I safely pasted 7. When I tried #8 Word crashed again.

I'll go back and try not to be so greedy before I print.

When I was small i recall being told often, 'patience is a virtue.' They didn't say how hard it was.

    thanks
