    TAP provider v9 Virus/Malware (can't find source file/removal process)

So I don't know how or when this thing got on my computer- I have both nod32 9 and malware bytes premium on my computer and have scanned with both. They usually find anything that would be even the smallest threat to my system before it becomes a problem. But now, I am dealing with a virus/malware service that seems to want me to install an unknown driver upon system start. There is no msconfig file to be run for it and nothing in the system startup folder either. It says its TAP Provider V9 for Private Tunnel Networks OpenVPN Technologies.

I have never installed any virtual machine or VPN program either. Windows prompts me to install the driver so I just hit "don't install". I don't think any serious damage is going on. But sometimes it'll re-prompt after denying it access and I really want the installer OFF my machine. Problem is, I can't find the source and neither can my maintenance programs. Where should I look for this thing? There isn't much info on it out there. Thank you!

What's your AV (Antivirus) and did you update it recently? Some AV's now include a VPN by default.

EDIT: Forget that. Research shows that it is adware.

I would run AdwCleaner on my system to see if it finds anything.

    Downloads - AdwCleaner - ToolsLib
