    Missing MFC140U.dll File?

Greetings all---hope this is the right forum or someone please direct me to the correct one.

After downloading a paid ACD Systems Video Editor 2 I get the error message "cannot open---missing MFC140U.dll file. Is there a best but "easy" way to correct this issue?

By way of a Google search I did find something by RegUtilities claiming to be the fix. I did let it do a scan where it found 294 issues but terminated the scan and deleted the program immediately.

Any help correcting this would be greatly appreciated, TIA!

    Hi JWA,
That dll relates to a Unicode install, the u on the end specifies this, you need to allow it.
    (not base MS)

    Thanks for the reply Roy!

There isn't an option to allow or block anything---the program simply won't open after its downloaded. Or am I missing something?

I did a bit more research and finally went to Microsoft.com for their Visual C++ patch---that did the trick. :)

Thanks all for jumping in---greatly appreciated!
