Not mine. The filing system's a mess. Folders that don't really exist containing files that don't exist. Junction points with folders within folders like a Hall of Mirrors. Links that point to themselves. You get permission to install a setup file, then you're told the decompressed files don't have permission to open. I'm wondering about how the average user who doesn't go to forums for help can install and run their programs. Or maybe they just use whatever programs came with the computer.

What does "popular" mean?
Depending on the interpretation, it could fairly be said that Windows 3.1 is still popular.

So ... yes, Win 7 is popular.

They can't.
IF you look at their methodology stated in their website, they measure usage based on hits on a particular web page, then getting the OS out of the user agent of the browser. Market share is then extrapolated and estimated from those amounts.
Of course that yields an approximated estimate at most, but has several drawbacks.

OSs are counted just by the looking at the user agent declared by the browser, which says nothing about the origin of the installation. Purchased copies, OS that came bundled with the hardware, downgraded from 7/8 though the GWX malware, pirated copies, virtual machines, spoofed user agents, all count the same and the website has no way of telling them apart.
It's important to know that those sites don't tell "market share", but instead actual OS usage, no matter where the OS came from.

Only Microsoft has the number for sales compared to give away copies of W-10.
A true sales figure of W-10 I don't believe will be coming soon.

If ever. And, considering all the stunts and lying MS has been doing lately, I wouldn't trust any figures they would provide.

Windows 7 not as popular as I thought...
Not trying to start a heated argument, or lambaste Win7, but I was surprised to see that it's usage is still below Vista, and waaaay below XP. It's funny how the media can make you think that "everybody's" switching to 7! lol  Assuming of course, that my source is accurate:...
