Speak of GUI what can't Microsoft maintain the Windows 7 gui in Windows 10? Windows 10 gui just plain flat and not attractive at all.
Read post #53. The flat gui requires less computing power.

Apple does offer some free support for new buyers, including free lessons on how to use Macs. Apple also does have free software.
Apple will give you a lot of support in their stores. My friend frequents one in a nearby mall because she doesn't know how to look for online help. She can come in anytime and the staff is huge, and they give 1-to-1 help even if you don't take the classes. The Apple store is always jammed.

At the Microsoft store in the same mall, the staff plays games while waiting for customers to enter. On the weekend you might see 3-5 customers there.

There doesn't need to be just one OS for all MS devices. Apple doesn't have just one OS on everything. MS should have left 7 alone and put 8 or 10 on the tablet. Support is scheduled to end in 2020, but I hope they extend it as they did in XP.

BTW--they skipped Win 9 so as not to confuse it with Win 98.
