How do I get rid of .tmp folders in my C: \> ?

    Dear experts,

I have this .tmp folders that are all empty and appeared out of the blue.

The thing is that my computer does not allow me to delete them.

The error message is that it requires permission in order for me to do so and ask me try again.

I do not understand cos I am the administrator so why the message ?

The files all start with MS something. Eg MS124b2.tmp

Hope to have some advice on this issue. Tks.

    Unlocker

One answer is do a web search for unlocker and down load it. Be careful what you are deleting. Any thing with an extension of tmp should be ok.

I personally would leave the folders alone.
Them are empty because they have been cleaned of 'temp' files.
Their is a very good chance the folders will be needed again.
Always be careful of removing things that Windows 7 is trying to protect.

It's owned by system which is higher than admin if you open a CMD prompt type set it should be listed if you run out of RAM windows uses tmp folders to swap memory so it's needed
