file:// protocol opens html file in Frontpage rather than browser
Here's a strange, and rather annoying bug.
I recently installed an upgrade to Cubase (music editing software). In earlier versions, clicking "Help" opened a PDF manual, but now it links to an HTML file on the hard drive (specifically, the link is "file:///C:/Program Files/Steinberg/Cubase 9/help/help-redirect/help-redirect-EN.html"
This SHOULD open a browser window with links to various resources, but instead, the HTML file itself is opened in Microsoft Frontpage code editor. I use FP on occasion to edit some older web pages, so I don't want to just uninstall it. I can't find any default settings that account for this.
In fact, if I double-click on the same html file (in Windows Explorer), it opens in my default browser as it should. Likewise, if I paste this link (with OR without the "file://" prefix) it opens in a browser as it should.
This is an annoyance, rather than a serious problem, as I can always manually open the manual, but being the anal-rententive that I am, it will bug me until I figure it out.
Any ideas?
