windows old files are corrupt during win 7 installation

hi.. my windows 7 ultimate 32 bit recently crushed with "Interactive Logon Process Failed" error. Found a solution online but unfortunately i dont have another win 7 i can hook up to fix it. So my option is to just reinstall. I happened to install my previous windows win7 32 by myself and it worked fine for years until that error came. Without enough knowledge, i decided to choose win 7 64 bit on my new install (was late to read a posts that its not gonna work to install 64 from previously installed win 32 bit). I can see from my screen that it's processing but it get stuck on completing installations for an hour or so. I search on net with my win 8 pc , and got suggestions to remove usb device connected to it. SO I REMOVEd my usb installation disc. Nothing change for half an hour. Then the message came 'the file or directory c:\windows.old\windows\winsxs\manifests\x86_microsoft-windows-inf_31bf3856ad364e35_6.1.7600.17281_none_a643660a7e42e622.manifest is corrupted and unreadable. Please run the Chkdsk utility. So i did it( << chkdsk). The result says 'file ...6799... orphan'. Searched it on net. Got scared after reading post from here'. The man said he just run chckdsk (probably with repair option) then his files were gone. While reading other posts and typing this comment, my pc just suddenly shows installation will continue after restarting.. Woah. I didnt expected that since been too long already. Thought it was dead. BIG SMILES when it launches the login details screen. AS soon as the windows opens up, i look up to my computer files and worries just flies away. Windows old are intact. Whats more from being dumb, found out that still im on system 32. DUHHHHHHHH...(was hungry xareh ) Sorry for my long story, but its all true. hope someone could find a sense on it. Found a solution along the way and it is called patience . So as to say ,This Thread is now closed.
