Does Windows 7 "Windows Update" scan "my" computer for updates or...

...does it just check for any new updates since the last time I updated? I guess what I am asking is how do I know if my computer has all needed updates?

    Thank you,
    yeto

For a while now windows has been using cumulative updates usually once a month that contain all available updates, these are checked against your system and only those updates relevant to your system and that are not found are downloaded and installed. So you should have the latest updates if you have windows update working.

Does it always get it right? - Not always, so would always advise creating a restore point or better still a system Image before accepting the update

    Hi,
Look at your update history and post a screen shot one full page should be fine to see what has been installed lately.
