Windows 7: Loading OS Without CD or Support, to wiped HDD.

Loading OS Without CD or Support, to wiped HDD.

2017/05May/30Tue/23:00h prox. Loading OS Without CD or Support,to wiped HDD.

I bought computers from the government, BC Auctions:
(3) HP desktops;
(1) Lenovo laptop; and
(1) Lenovo desktop.

The gummint wipes their computers' hard drives, before they sell the units.Thoughthe units have the stickers with the product key, they have no operating systems (OS) or CD.I need to download OS for them.

Beginning with the Lenovo desktop,I started asearch for 'loading OS without CD'. I tried a Windows website, but got, "Error. The product key you entered appears to be for software pre-installed by the device manufacturer. Please contact the device manufacturer for software recovery options.”

I spent hours, fighting Lenovo's site, which seems designed to protect them from enquiries, including their dead-end, "Contact" sham. After struggling through their jungle, I ended with some statement that they don't have support for this unit. Clicking on their "forum" buttondidn’t go anywhere, either. Their site seems set up, mainly, as a 'Peasant-blocker'. "What? Can't afford to order new? Then, GO AWAY!"

How can I load a CD or memory stick with the OS, to reload the Windows 7 Pro OA”that was originally installed, without the cooperation of the 'Customer Disservice'at Microsoft or Lenovo?

Thank you. With all the stuff on the screen, I’m not sure which is your user name.

I don't know how to distinguish, "Enterprise version machines".

I don’t understand your instructions, “ follow thisClean Install Windows 7 downlaod that ISO make a bootable disk from it”. Oh, just noticed that “Clean Install Windows 7” is a link.

I’ll try it.

I have a dispute with the cable company over address,so I go out for internet. I'm in my truck outside a free internet spot, but I'll have to leave soon. I’m exhausting and my hands are crippling up again so I can't type much more.

This is the site we recommend here.

Microsoft Windows and Office ISO Download Tool

Just download and run the Windows ISO Downloader.exe from the above link, it will open a window to let you choose which version of Windows you want.

Well, “ICIT2LOL”, that link page requires to, “Boot the computer from your Windows 7 installation DVD/USB.”.

I explained, in my initial post, that I don’t have a CD, only the sticker on the box.

I hope the other route, from Melchior”, may help.

Windows 7 HP 64

Welcome to the forum.
You said that the HDD was wiped. Are you sure it was the whole HDD or only the C: drive?
I'm asking because you may still have the factory recover partition. With it you can reinstall Win 7 to C: drive by BIOS.

Assuming that all HDD was wiped, download the OEM ISO from the link AddRam provided (Microsoft Windows and Office ISO Download Tool), and follow this tutorial to put into a USB flash disk USB Windows 7 Installation Key Drive - Create - Windows 7 Help Forums.
Use the sticer COA key to install.
You will have to download the appropriate drivers from the HP and / or Lenovo site.

“Windows 7 Pro OA”

2017/05May/31Wed/01:00h prox. The link from Melchior”, <>, told me to download <Windows ISO Downloader.exe>, which I lloaded onto a stick, then ran it. I answered the choices, but none of the Windows 7 choices had the same letter suffixes as my “Certificate of Authenticity”,shows, Windows 7 Pro OA”.

I chose one, mostly at random, chose "English" and some other mundane choice, which, each attempt, resulted in the same, mostly blank window, "<>". The words, which couldn't be copy-and-pasted into this note, said, "Error We encountered a problem processing your request. Please try again later.

2017/05May/31Wed/18:30h prox. I became worried it might be malware and closed my laptop. Today, I scanned it and found it to be "Backdoor:Win32/Rbot"; "Alert level Severe".

Melchior”, are you not aware of this apparent threat from your suggestion?

I see that, “AddRAM … R.I.P. Gary”, repeats the suggestion. I don’t understand why, if the anti-malware program flags it as, "Backdoor:Win32/Rbot"; "Alert level Severe". Someone please explain.

I’ll look at some other suggestions, too. There’s at least one more.

hmm... idk its a legit program as far as I know its a legit/good program for getting widows ISOs
and I have never had any issues with it or with FileHippo.. FileHippo is just hosting a mirror of the file wheres the other site AddRam suggested is just that programs home website...

it could be a false positive by your anti-virus.. what are u using for anti-virus?
I scanned and didn't find anything using Spybot Search & Destroy
I also scanned it with
and it found nothing bad ^_^

the actual ISOs/DVDs that the program downloads come straight from Microsoft, the program just makes navigating to the download link easier

strange... I'm getting that error too... O_o
you would probably want the OEM version since that's the type of COA you probably have.. but then again I could be wrong...
