    WMplayer process

I just noticed in my task manager that wmplayer.exe is starting with my computer, I checked msconfig and its not even under the startup list. anyone know how to stop this process from starting?

Try typing services in the search by the start button. Go to WMP, you can probably take care of it there.

I should of said also looked in services and there is no Windows media player or wmp in my services that are set to auto or man, so its a mystery to why its starting up.

Windows Media Player Network sharing services, is listed in my services and set to automatic. We have the same OS, you should have the same listing. I do not what else to say.

I just typed windows media player in search. Since, I have not done this before, I got the option to make it may default or make it custom. If you could get to WMP otptions and make sure it is not your default it may stop it from starting automatically.

If you really do mean "wmplayer.exe" then its the same old bug as Vista.

You try to use WMP but it doesn't open, you then notice its already running in Task-Man, kill it then run WMP.

I ain't sure what causes this but it hardly happens to me now (Vista) I assume the Service Pack fixed or mostly fixes it LOL.

Try task scheduler Windows Media Sharing, maybe that is something. This is new to me, I am guessing just the way you are. But, hopefully 2 minds are better than one.

Just for info, I never have or let anything to do with WMP Sharing or Networking run, so that would not be the cause for me but as I said it hardly ever happens now.
