New Folder Not Visible On Desktop
High end Windows 7 Ultimate...
All kinds of misbehaving is happening on my Desktop and Windows Explorer.
(1) I right click on the Desktop, select "New folder" but nothing appears. I tried a couple of times before visiting "Start/Computer/Desktop" and the three 'New folders' are visible in 'Desktop' in the normal way. Plain and numbered (2) & (3). I can even work with them at this point.
(2) I reboot and the Folders appear on the Desktop where they should be. I fill them with files and drag them to a drive but they do not show. If I go to "Start/Computer/Desktop" and work from there, they show okay.
(3) To test before posting this request for help, I deleted a folder on my C:\ drive in Windows Explorer. It remained visible. I tried deleting it again, got the usual 'Confirmation' box, clicked 'Yes' and immediately up came the 'Could not find this item box'. I looked in the Recycle bin and there it was. I clicked 'Restore this item'. It restored it but the folder remained visible in the Recycle bin. In its restored position, it worked okay.
This has been happening since using the file conversion programme: "Switch Sound File Converter". This may, of course, be coincidence.
Can anyone throw some light on this for me, please?
