Windows 7: "Save As" windows doesn't offer the Dekstop as a destination.

"Save As" windows doesn't offer the Dekstop as a destination.

Up until recently when I clicked on a new file to save it, the Save As would let me save it to the desktop.

I usually get the window in the screenshot. In order to upload this screen shot I had to move it from the desktop to the Documents folder which appears via the Computer icon on the desktop.

What's happened? How can I return the Save As result to what it was before?

Hello Syncopator, :)

You can turn on "Show all folders" in the navigation pane of the "Save as" dialog to see Desktop again.

Short of restoring to an earlier date there are two ways to get the desktop to show.
First go to "C:/Users/YOUR NAME/Desktop" be sure to click the desktop and open it. Then on the left scroll up to the top where it says Favorites. Right click on favorites and select "Add current location to Favorites".
Second go to the desktop folder as above and right click on the desktop and select "Include in Libraries" > "Create new Library"

The advice in the linked article was helpful Brink, and I have the Desktop back in the Save As options.

I didn't need to try your suggestion billmcct, but thank you anyway.
