    Time is always wrong

Ok, so ive had this problem for a long time and now its bugging me to much so now im here. Iv'e tried some things like Manually setting the time and disabling auto setting the clock. The month and day are fine, its just the time thats wrong. I can set the time by auto updating it, and it works, but if i restart or shut down the time changes again. Please help.

Hello, to no longer have those problems go through the tab that shows you the default system configuration and correct those faults. in case it does not work it replaces the CMOS battery factor.

This Forum tutorial should help you set the Time Zone.

If it still will not hold the correct time after a shut down, then the CMOS battery probably needs changing. This battery acts as a back up for CMOS settings that include the time clock, when the computer is not connected to any other power source.

Nope didnt work either, it has to be the cmos battery cuz ive tried other things as well a few months ago. How do i know what battery to get? I was looking online and it says its the same as a watch battery "CR2032 lithium" What happens if i dont replace it?

Hi BLUE838, I have only tried Linux a couple of times, so am nowhere near an expert with it, but I do

know that it uses Universal Time Clock, and Windows uses Local Time. There are a few members who use

Linux on the forum, and they may be able to help you sort it out.
