Can't get into PC due to password

    Hi all,

I am currently at work offshore and my PC has decided to mess me about. Whenever it updates or turns off and reboots I'm taken to the blue login screen and an icon labelled "user" and a password request. I however haven't set any passwords up for the system. I'm running Windows 7. Any help would be great.

    Thanks in advance.

Some manufacturers, (notably Dell), add an extra layer of security to their business laptops, that comes in before the BIOS, (It was added a few years ago in the wake of the spate of "Laptops Left on a train" game played by government officials & MPs )

There is supposed to be an entry in the BIOS to allow setting of the password and off/on state, but I have seen occasions where a glitch can set it to on without user assistance

I know with Dell that Each laptop they build has a unique failsafe password which is only obtainable from Dell on production of Proof of Ownership / ID Numbers Etc. The software generates the password to use for any system based on the provided information.

If the issue are having follows the above situation then I'm afraid that the manufacturer is your first and only option
