Self signed certificates ?
Is it possible to create a self signed certificate (non transferable to other PCs) for executables on my PC only ?
(MS-Excel 2003) used to allow self-signing for template (XLT) files and addin (XLA) files)
Free Bitdefender blocks (I suspect) unsigned programs without warning.
No alerts, no warnings and is supposed to move those "suspect" executables to BD quarantine.
In the last week, two EXE files have disappeared (by Bitdefender) into the ether.
I have been using both programs for the past 5+ years, and suddenly Free-BD loses them
My experience with BD (pro) over the years is that it is very unstable , requiring clean installing ever few months on multiple PCs.

SPECS:
Win-7 PRO x64
AV: Free Bitdefender
Anti-Executable: Voodoo Shield PRO (VDS) ... uses a white-list of safe EXEs (created by me)
- VDS is not an AV, so there is not any clash with AVs
- if VDS detects a non-white-listed EXE it *always* shows an alert
