Aero peek not working for programs

hi this is my first post and i am not quite sure where to put it so i put it in general.

for a while now my aero peek has not been working. however it is not as described in the many tutorials and discussions on the topic. in my case the desktop preview works just fine as does the small window preview when hovering over the icon in the task bar. the only part that i have noticed not working is the full window preview when you hover over the small one. it just does not show up no matter how long i hover there. i have already tried all but the most drastic (reinstall win7) solutions i have found but i was never very hopeful as many of them list the desktop preview not working as one of the main symptoms and that works fine for me. as i don't use it frequently (probably once a fortnight) and i make changes to computer settings and software on a regular basis i cant pin point any one thing that changed before it stopped working. i am finding this quite frustrating and am very comfortable with computers so i don't mind fiddling with the registry and other deep system setting to try and fix it.

any help would be greatly appreciated

    Aero peek not working (FIX)

I was pulling my hair out for days trying to fix a user's problem of her Aero peek not working on her laptop. It wasn't working on my laptop either.

After a lot of research, I determined that the problem was in a graphics driver.

Went to Device Manager...Display adapters. I had 3 listed. I use 2 monitors & so does my user. In addition to the 2 drivers for the 2 monitors, we both also had DameWare Development Mirror Driver listed. I disabled that...rebooted...it worked!

Hope you find a similar type thing & that it works for you.

    Hi

Thanks for the suggestion. Unfortunately that is not the issue here as i only have 1 display adaptor listed even through i am using 2 screens. This may be an issue in itself but the one listed is my GTX1070 and that is the only one i use so i doubt it.
