    No tooltips on minimise,maximise,close buttons

After updating windows there are no longer any tooltips on the minimise, maximise (restore up and down and whatever), and close buttons. These tooltips would normally appear after hovering over the buttons for ,I don't know , one second maybe. All programs seem to be affected. No other tooltips, it would seem, are affected. This matter is trivial but I was wondering did it point to anything more serious , so I ran sfc , the result of which indicated no integrity violations. This post ;No Close pop-up (X out), of Any program/browser? is ,I think , referring to the same situation. So ,hover over these buttons and tell me if your experience is the same. As I say ,it is trivial, I just want to know if my computer is out of step with the norm. Cheers. That is "norm" followed by "cheers".

My Windows' tooltips on minimise, maximise and close buttons can be activated when I hover mouse over the corresponding buttons. So what is difference between mine and yours, each? Do any of you have the .NET Framework 4-7 installed? It is only an optional update. I make it that KB3186497 27-06-17 is still uninstalled on my machine. Maybe the difference is occuring in the Framework CLass Library.

I don't know whether this Tool Tips problem is related to an IE11 problem I am having. After installing the 2017-11 Monthly Quality Roll up for Windows 7 x64 based systems.(KB4051034), IE11 has stopped loading certain website pictures & on this particular website users can reply to certain news items & this also fails to work.

I have downloaded & installed Firefox Quantum & that works perfectly with this website as does Opera, so there is a problem with IE11. Hopefully it will be fixed with the next major Windows update.

    Details of my IE11 are:
    Version 11.0.9600.18837
    Update version 11.0.48 (KB4047206)

I run maintenance ,so to speak, on a computer that is not mine. The tooltips were there ,as normal. I then installed the ---November 14, 2017 — KB4048957 Monthly Rollup--- after which the tooltips no longer showed. That seems QED to me.

Wow, great news and thanks for sharing this on the Forum. I am up to my ears in updates, I hardly know which ones apply any more. The side effects appear harmless. However, should you prefer the way things were earlier, then you can remove a previously installed update or follow the tutorial Windows Update - Uninstall an Update

Nope, December Quality rollup includes this same issue , as my Tooltips just vanished a moment ago.
